sonalksis or urs

Post by amorat » Wed Oct 18, 2006 1:11 pm

I'm an MBP and would like to have a good solution for comp, eq, mastering.
I'm so undecided right now if I should go for a sonalkis bundle SV-315, SV-517, CQ1 and DQ1 or for an URS Everything Equalizer and Compressor Bundle v5.0. If some of you were in the same position what was your opinion to chose one over the other...if ckecked both demos and if read quite a lot in this forum but never a direct comparison. kind regards for any opinions.

cheers

d.

It's very subjective .. you really need to try both the demos to see for yourself and not rely on other people's opinions (like, mine :) )

I love the Sonalksis stuff. URS is a bit more expensive too though isn't it... For that reason plus the fact URS is iLock I'd say Sonalksis but don't listen to me..
Awright Bawjaws, that smells lovely son, gies a wee taste!

I was in the same position and chose Sonalkis. Aside from the fact I like the way they sound more, they're cheaper, and don't need a stupid ass dongle to use. I hate dongles though, so I'm biased.

I own (and really like) the Sonalksis stuff. However, I also like the URS stuff, and could see picking it up down the road. You can also rent to own the URS plugs - takes a lot of the pain away. In fact I've rented their compressors a couple of times, and those fees are 100% applicable to a purchase, so I'm part way there!

I personaly liked the way the URS stuff sounds for the most part. It is high quality software that is for sure. I was not so into the Sonalksis stuff but it too is very high quality software. It all depends on taste. In the end I bought the PSP total pack and was done with it. I am VERY happy with tere software. I would still love to own some other compressors. I think I am a little obsessed with them 8O
