floppy issue ..
floppy issue ..
Live 6 activates my floppy drive every time on startup. I never use the drive, and especially not with Live .. I'd like to disable that. How do I do?
Me too. It's very annoying and ... outdated.

Live most likely looks at all drives while starting up. Almost all programs do that, its kinda like looking ahead to see if there is any Live related files on the removable media drives. If you don't use the drive anymore just go to divice manager and disable it.
Start menu > Control Panel > System > Device manager Tab
You should see Floppy listed in the tree. Click on the + to expand it and right click on your floppy and get Properties for it.
Under Properties check disable.
Done.
You could also, just open up your computer and pull the power cable that connects to the floppy drive.

w d fuck, now i've found out that live checks my floppy even when i use the sample swap function for impulse etc.
checking floppy at startup is not such a big issue, but every time i want to swap samples makes this a major one ..
i've sofar tried to reinstall live, and also to delece the "preferences.cfg" file (Ableton support said I should do it) but nothing worked ..
