Can anyone provide me with step by step on how to use this AU plugin in a Live track? I have know idea what "Jack" is. Or do I need this when usig it as a Plug in?

If you are using SooperLooper as a plug-in, you don't need Jack. Live will route the audio to the device. All you do is insert the plug-in and tell Live where to find the application file. You'll need to then switch to the application (it's enclosed separately from Live) to use the plug-in. For more info, check out http://essej.net/sooperlooper/.

2 things to get started:
Have to insert SL on midi track. Route audio to it from a separate audio track. You'll see the option to send audio to the SL track in your output options.
The GUI comes up as a separate application, rather than floating window, so you have to switch apps. When you bring up the GUI in Live look in the dock for the SL app.
I'm just starting with this app, but as a longtime EDP user, I'm happy to see an OSX EDP style looper.

I got this very helpful response that I pass along:
Setup three tracks in Ableton.
1 is a midi track titled Sooperlooper INput. The only thing on the track is the sooperlooper plugin. it leaves a space for an instrument you will not be adding. Make sure the Monitor is set to "In".
2 is an audio track that is set with the input as your guitar input with monitor selected to "In" and the output set to 2- Sooperlooper Input that we just made with the bottom specific to 3/4 Sooperlooper - not sure why i used 3/4 but i think it worked better.
3- is an audio track with the input set to 2- Sooperlooper Input and channels 3/4 of the Sooperlooper also with the Monitor set to "In". the output of this track is set to Master or wherever you want it to go (i personally have mine set to send only and then Bus A goes to output 3 of my audio interface so that the bass or guitar has a sep. output to my amp. (This track is mainly useful for capturing the audio out of the SuperLooper to make Live Clips for further manipulation.)
In addition, to use a Midi controller to control SL, you have to setup a 4th track. Set the Midi To to the SooperLooper In track, and the Track in to 1-SooperLooper.
Maybe there's an easier way to setup SooperLooper within Live, but I haven't figured it out. I'm just happy SL exists.
This is a brilliant program for the Mac (or Linux). Unfortunately the documentaion is not all that "step-by-step." But personally, I wish Ableton could include a plug-in like this, or implement features that rival the functionality of SooperLooper. I'm having a blast with it, and was inspired to donate money to the developer. People who make these things need to be rewarded.

Sooper Looper and Live
SO this tells how to set it up.
How do you use it? What I mean is are you guys using Live as a means to host Sooper only, or are you building loop in Sooper and then recording them in Live - - in a live set?
I'm curious as to how yall use SooperLooper and Live.
I know how to use SooperLooper(RTM) and Live but I how to perform Live with both - whose doing that and how?

oh man oh man oh man!!!
after literally a couple of years of trying to fin the right looping solution, finally it came along.
anyways heres what i do-
open Sooperlooper(SL) as an audio unit plug in a midi track in Live,
create 10 empty midi clips,
map them to my behringer footpedal in a similar order as the original Echoplex pedal (Record, Overdub, Multiply,Insert, Mute, etc)
Go into Sooperlooper and open the 'MIDI Bindings' preference pane
create "note on" controls that correspond with the buttons youd like to have
(for record, select [cmnd]record from the menu, then "note on" C0)
then in your first midi clip, create a note (C0) by double clicking on the piano scroll.
Map the 'record' midi clip to your footpedal and VOILAH, do this for 5 or 10 controls, and you have a Laptop based Echoplex Digital Pro!
Believe me, it is SO MUCH FUN once you get it working.
Sooperlooper has all kinds of fun timing and scratch functions that are good for hours of tripping.
