HELP! - mp3s are drifting

Post by banooped » Fri Oct 13, 2006 1:54 am

Hi, ive just warped all my mp3s (320kbps) on my desktop (they were all perfect as i designed my set on it) and then transferred them over to my laptop for a gig im playin, but for some reason the warped tracks on ableton on my laptop are all off. In the wave bar they seem fine but when you zoom into the waves they are off by a beat.

They are perfect on my desktop tho as ive checked a load of times now, does anyone know how to fix this?

I have a gig tomorrow and really need to get it fixed, help greatly appreciated.

Also, anytime i put a track onto my laptop from desktop the track length always goes up to 12 minutes or more even tho the track is like 8 minutes, anyone know why this is? So its just leaves a blank grey background after the waves.

a good thing to check with mp3 problems is to have the latest quicktime, and in your case, probably should have the exact same version on both machines (?)

what are you doing exactly?
dragging the mp3s one by one from the browser, or loading a set with all your mp3s?

when you copied the mp3s from the desktop to the laptop, did you also copy the corresponding .alc files? (.alc files are the files where the warping is saved)

last thing: you know that Live needs to convert your mp3s into .wav to read them. they are stored in a "cache folder".
did you also copy the cache folder's content from the desktop to the laptop?
do you have the same sampling rate for both soundcards?
