cilcs & drops wih long audio files BUT no HD overload indica

Post by roberto » Thu Feb 19, 2004 4:53 pm

Long audio files ( 2 minutes) are listened with continual cliks and drops even if it is the only track playing. BUT the harddisk overload indicator does not light, and cpu indicator is 6 or 7 %.
I have tryed changing the sample freqency to 32 or even 22 Kh and the problem is still there.
I have a labtop running at 2,6 Gh with 760 M DDR.
Does anyone has an idea

i'm actually experiencing this on my mac desktop (quicksilver g4, 867, 1g ram)

this never happened before, just with this one live set that i'm working on. no processor overloads. but it sounds exactly like that. audio drop outs and stutters.

been getting exactly the same thing with the session/live set i've been working on for my next live performances, sometimes just running a couple of clicks i get dropouts and stuttering.. using a g4/400 laptop.. i just put it down to processing power...

It's the same with my setup (AMD 2,6 , 512 DDR, Maxtor Diamond HD) .. strangewise it's worse when I render the audio to disk.. Are there any ideas to fix this?? I am a dark ambient artist and I have large user of really long audio files..
