live 5 compatible with macbook pro?

Post by itsu uno » Fri Oct 13, 2006 4:16 pm

Hi, i just got a macbook pro... if i put even one effect into the ableton arrangement, or just have more than 3 tracks running, it glitches and crawls along chopping and spitting... i'm at my wit's end... i've even set the buffer to full but its not working..

someone told me that live 5 isn't compatible with the new macbook pro's, that i need to get 5.2 or 6

can anyone pleeease point me to some information about this, or confirm and deny it... i'm usig a focusrite saffire LE soundcard..

any help much appreciated..

thanks.

2Gb? What exactly for - can you quote figures from your system saying which processes need so much memory? Are you streaming lots of long stereo tracks @192K/24bit from RAM?

if u have the choice go 4 Live 6, u will get the extra bonus of multi processor support!

2gb of ram is a lot of RAM, but u can never have enough...

I have 1256mb ram and i've never reached the limit.
Then again, I don't run 1Gb rompler patches.

It's a horror with 256mb ram though. Adam Jay is still laughing and pointing about that one ;)
