The Ableton Sampler is pretty damned good at it - the whole morphing filter/saturation thing is right on the money.
mbp 2.66, osx 10.6.8, 8GB ram.

operator works great too :
- create the classic reece using subtractive synthesis and f**k it up with FM
- drop an effectrack with filters , saturators and reverbs in different orders after it and start modulating to hell
