What do you think about BT?
ok im done wasting my time on someone who doesnt even do anything interesting with live. Just because you throw a live sticker on your laptop doesnt make you a bad ass. Can some start a thread about someone who is a bad ass with ableton like coldcut or richie hawtin or anyone who does interesting stuff.

Ride (as half of 2 phat cunts)
Fibonacci Sequence
Ok, so thats three not one but hey. Personally, I listen to music for more than _just_ beats though...

Now that's valid, I think! Both times I've seen his "laptop symphony" I've been disappointed in many ways....how can someone so intelligent and cretive use Live in such a totally boring, non-creative, and "safe" way?jdoty wrote:ok im done wasting my time on someone who doesnt even do anything interesting with live.
That was a rhetorical question, btw...
The whole argument here was centered around jdoty remarking that BT has no talent...which is a ridiculous claim that I've already refuted quite easily. Just because someone isn't "doing something in Live" that he thinks is interesting isn't a basis for an argument that he doesn't have talent.ethios4 wrote:Now that's valid, I think! jdoty should just say, i don't like his music because it sounds boring to me or "it lacks any emotion in my opinion" and be done with it.
You can't say someone doesn't have any talent (or even worse compare them to P D"idiot") just because you don't like the music that they make. Bottom line, BT is VERY talented and has done many things in the industry that have affected different genres of music...AND from what I hear, he is working on a new software application that will make the stutter effect that he did manually much easier for the masses...although from the examples I've seen on Sampler, it seems as though you could automate some actions to create the same effect too.

You have an issue with sampling?...you obviously don't use Simpler or Sampler in Ableton Live then do you.jdoty wrote:Hip Hop Phenomenon = sampled beats sorry but its true.

i dont mind samplling as long as you make it sound different. I dont understand why people just use sampled drum patterns that have been used over and over again. I like sampling when it is done right chopped and spliced and goes with the dynamics of the track.jb61264 wrote:You have an issue with sampling?...you obviously don't use Simpler or Sampler in Ableton Live then do you.jdoty wrote:Hip Hop Phenomenon = sampled beats sorry but its true.
So please explain to me how Hip Hop Phenomenon is sampled beats that isn't chopped and spliced or goes with the dynamics of the track.jdoty wrote:i dont mind samplling as long as you make it sound different. i can tell their is no winning with you considering you use rmx and reason. its all about battery.jb61264 wrote:So please explain to me how Hip Hop Phenomenon is sampled beats that isn't chopped and spliced or goes with the dynamics of the track.jdoty wrote:i dont mind samplling as long as you make it sound different. not sure I follow you...you mean Native Instruments Battery "Sampling" Software??? which comes with over 12GB's worth of 23,000 professional drum samples???jdoty wrote:i can tell their is no winning with you considering you use rmx and reason. its all about battery.jb61264 wrote:So please explain to me how Hip Hop Phenomenon is sampled beats that isn't chopped and spliced or goes with the dynamics of the track.jdoty wrote: i dont mind samplling as long as you make it sound different.
