free sync features

Post by 3phase » Tue Mar 09, 2004 11:23 am

In session situations its sometimes more convinient to not midisync 2 laptops running ableton Live.
I just miss one important feature to have more fun with that.
Midiclocktick shift ! For fine adjusting the relativ positions of the 2 laptops.

Its ok to press a button 24 times to get Live a 16th note backward or forward. usually you are very close allready just by starting on the one.
This is also usefull for Djs using Ableton Live.

If such a function is maybe allready implemented please let me know.
Thanks,
Sven

as a workaround you can simply put a simple delay onto
the masterchannel...
not quite the same, i know.

i ve more the problem to shift the whole thing forward rather than backward...but thanks...its defenetly possible to start intentionally early and use the delay afterwards...i will do that when i get the next time in a free jam situation

Live does have a sync offset function in the options/midi menu.

Pitch Bend

I don't think clock offset will work here. Abletons, please can we have the option of assigning tempo nudge to the pitch bend wheel, so live can just be 'nudged' forwards and back, like a Dj does?
