mercyplease and bounce,

I don't want to fight, and yes, I have digressed into some real bullshit here and I have certainly caught myself today of going well beyond the scope of why I hang around this forum. For that, I am sorry to any and all forum members. I don't feel I have spread pollution on this thread but I certainly apologize for attracting some of it. I'll tell ya, I've learned a ton and enjoyed some of the banter, but I would really like to reach a pleasant level of discussion. But mercy, why do you and bounce wish to force your position with threats and hate? Maybe you can enlighten the forum on why that is an acceptable tact for you guys? If you go through the thread you will find that my thoughts on midi have some solid more experienced (than me) posters in agreement and I agree with them too. We have a common interest in advancing live's midi capabilities. That's a good thing, even if you disagree.

No, there is nothing wrong with ignoring someone. It's quite alright and socially acceptable to do so. I just wish the feeling was mutual, if not for the sake of the rest of the cool cats on this forum. It is not important to me at all that I prove anything. There is nothing win/lose about this board.

I am disappointed with this personal vendetta you and b seem to give great effort too. This will only tear you down from the inside and make you sick when you get older. I should know, right? Believe me my friend 45 is just around the corner and it's something to look forward to. I'm also fascinated and perplexed in all honesty, since I don't have much forum experience, so I have some untapped forum energy in those regards. You may not believe this but I stay with you on this because I think I can be helpful still. Forget about live, let quality of life be king for a day so more can follow.

Concerning Mr. Henke, he graciously gave something for everybody in his post and he gave the yes voters a positive nod too. Understand I will never challenge Mr. Henke on what he does with live when his responsibilities are with such a huge pool of disparaging styles of users with a software that Is almost too many things to too many people. But that of course is another part of it's appeal. Pushing him personally is irresponsible for any one man and is why I took interest in supporting the poll. So I ask you, why focus on one man with your energy when all it does is deplete your influence to the whole of the forum? Lets at least agree to close the book on this thread. No worries m and b.

I'm now off to get an avocado omelet at my favorite diner, the waitresses are absolutely stunning and they love a little attention.

Health and blessings, k

yes. better groove mamagement ( is this a good term ??? ) is also on the list of improvements. can we close the discussion now?
R.
...but why worry about closing a discussion on this subject?...
I suspect that Bob is frustrated with how this thread(and countless others in this forum) has once again derailed into a downward spiral of personal attacks and other useless crap that has essentially rendered this thread useless. You have to read thru pages of drama to get to the useful bits

I hear a very notable difference in all honestly , I have run live on both pc and MAC, the timing is defo looser than that when I compare it to my copy of cubase, and compared to the timing of older systems there is a big difference in tightness, abletons timing does seem to work nice with slower tempos but anything fast and I hear it get sloppy. For using external hardware I keep using an atari 1040st, because ableton just seems that bit too loose. Looking forward to getting stuck into 6 though, things can only get better. outside that loving ableton

There is now way in this universe an Ataris timing is better than Live. How the fuck can live be worse if your using a VSTi with latency compensation through out not forgetting the ridiculously high midi resolution of any modern daw. I think the atari is 96ppqn and live will be huge compared to that.
When you say timing explain what you mean. Sync timing? VSti timing, just sending external midi to a synth. What timing are you on about!
Are you aware that many hardware modules start chocking and then your timing goes to hell. Are you also aware that while you think the atari is tighter you probably just prefer the feel of the ataris midi sequencers because I can assure you mate its not tighter. Did you know that the first track on your atari is tighter than the last track Yes, tahts how the atari worked. Midi priority is given to the top track the rest are slightly delayed but that can often give your music a feel. I find Live just to damn rigid. If I send to external midi boxes the timing is a little looser than a VSTi but thats not Live its my external boxes.

Screw you guys! I'm going home.....

Mercyplease cheers, can't be arsed to write back, keep posting dude! very funny reading:D
