Live 6 stalling on splash screen with digi 002 hooked up...

Im running a powerbook g4, panther 10.3.9 and a digi 002, protools sees the 002 no problem and will let live open as a slave, but when i try to open live 6 with the digi 002, it stalls at the splash screen and says initializing inputs and outputs, it doesnt go into application not responding, it just wont open, gives you the gay pinwheel for ever...
any help to this, im assuming we need to get the latest drivers for the 002, we had no internet connection last night to do so...
