Post by pisquano » Wed Nov 01, 2006 12:25 pm

hI I just need a midi keyboard to use synth sounds on Live..
so just a controller if you like

I already own a Padkontrol for impulse but I want a proper keyboard to play strings ya know

any advice? I was thinking about the Edirol PC-50 and Spectrasonic Atmosphere (VST)

thanks

I don't know about anyone else, but the axiom "feels" the best to me.......and it's about the same price as most........er, at least I think so...........

unbeatable controller keyboard imo. pricey though

Axioms look like a nice, cheaper alternative

Bought the Korg MicroKontrol a few days ago ... I'm in love! (though mini-keyboards might not be everybodies taste).

I just got an Axiom 49 - and I like it. I used to have an Oxygen8. Not the same nice keys, but workable and considerably cheaper.

I myself am considering getting the axiom 25, and a remote sl0.

alternatively I may consider perhaps the xiosynth25 from novation, it's a 25-key midi controller, but with 200 built-in sounds as well!
MacBook Pro M3 Max, Scarlett 4i4 4th Gen, Ableton Move, LaunchPad Pro MK3, Behringer Edge, TecWav noise synth, Crank Sturgeon Plug Ugly contact mic, and oodles of effects pedals.

I have an axiom 49, it's really pretty good. Piano-ish, but still light enough for
strings/organ. Lots of faders, transport controls, and works with Live 6.

not very heavy either.

I have to disagree - it's quite far from a hammer-type keyboard. But as I said before - I like it. I've had a Fatar 88-key controller. Very nice, but not very synthy...

if you can afford it Korg Kontrol 49 leaves em all for dead. I own Axiom as well.

The Korg Kontrol 49 is a huge chunk of plastic CRAP if you ask me... :?

The only good thing about the mikrokontrol was the size and compactness of it. The Kontrol 49 is just silly, imo.

Exactly what I have - a Fatar 88 (which has excellent keys!) and got me an Axium 25 last week for portability. The Axiom has one of the best keys I have played so far in its size/price range.
