Changing the properties of an .asd file

Post by TonySoprano » Fri Nov 03, 2006 12:10 pm

Not thinking straight today. I've been sent a zipped Live song complete with .als files, the mp3's, and their associated .asd files. When I open up the song, all the files are marked as 'offline', When I hover over them in the Session view, the paths are all wrong as the guy who sent them to me keeps his tracks in a different location. How can I change the properties of the clips to point at a different location for the original mp3 files?

I have a hangover.

Ah. I need some coffee. An edit button, an edit button, my kingdom for an edit button.

This is something i've need before!!!

I managed to kind of sort it out by doing a search + replace with a hex editor on the als file. If you know the path it was pointing to before, it usually works... unfortunately it didnt work for plugin file refs (Kontakt + Battery) but if its just audio refs it should be ok... remember to always make copies before you do this!!!!!

The replace button should do the trick in this case right? If they are the same audio files, the warping should be fine. I think...
