Bidule sequencing solution!

Post by Funk » Sun Mar 28, 2004 2:11 am

Have you guys seen this one yet: http://www.kvr-vst.com/get/938.html. It's called Era made by Sonicbytes. It's a VSTi step-sequencer that will work in Bidule and will sync with Live. I think it's quite powerfull and will let us take full advantage of our VSTi plug-ins, at last! No freeware though :(

I've been trying this plugin and I love it. Finally I've got the setup I wanted. I thought of getting Fruity Loops to slave it to Ableton, but Bidule and Era together are so much better... Get some nice softsynths and you're in heaven!

anyone else have success with this set-up. I am just starting to get familiar with bidule.....and this vsti seems like a simple, logical solution to make things a little easier for me.

Swing?

Post by Funk » Mon Mar 29, 2004 3:09 pm

I do have a question about this sequencer. I would like to use the drum sequencer (I forgot to mention, but it comes with two seperate sequencers, one for drums and one for tones) together with a VSTi sampler (Battery for example), to create beats. I'm not so familiar with midi sequencers, but I have been trying the fruity loops demo and fl has got a "swing" function. Era doesn't seem to have one does it? Or do I miss something? I could give my beats the swing using the warp markers in Live but wouldn't it be quite essential for a drum sequencer to have a swing function?

Well before I was just acting like a DJ and pressing play inside EnergyXT which would then play VST's in Bidule but looks like I don't have to do that now.

Will report on my progress!!

Ah yes...this looks promising - it takes the notes from the keys and working fine for me right now!!!

the crazy thing is that in the process of checking all these out I remembered fruity could do it and I cant for the life of me think of why I haven't been using it - since I got my firewire 4/10 I forgot I had another midi input for my other keyboard to go into flstudio.

It works solid as a rock :? :D :!:
