ot..... The Dumbocrats and Repugnicans show. Too F'd up ?
yes tommorrow is voting day. make it stop. i hope all the electronic voting machines do not tip the election to the right though. look at the 2000 presidential election, stolen.
but with secret torture camps, the dismissal of habeas corpus and the geneva convention, wars of choice, and the finalazation of a corporate monarchy where king money rules, i think it is time for change.
not saying that the democrats are knights in shining armor, they are not, but we need them in to stop this mess and to start looking into filing criminal charges and starting the impeachment process against our unworthy corrupt leaders. just like nixon went, they shall too.
vote democrat! defend the constitution! (what's little is left of it)

Just talked with a friend who is on the jury of a trial of a person who was arrested for sending a letter to the president (Bush) telling him what a sorry person he is and that he should die. No threats of any kind, just that he should die. It's great that the guy is getting a trial, but on the flip side of American justice, it would cost the guy an arm and a leg for a decent lawyer and so he's going without...whatdya think his chances are?
I'm surprised the ACLU isn't on this yet.
Free speech anyone?

Thanks glu. Your sig made me LOL. Thanks for that.
Yeah, I'm being a bit of a ham on this dem, repub crap. I just wanna win control.
It's just too unfortunate that the fu administration has left an almost impossible legacy for any following administrations. ethios4, you got that right.
Too bad the dems need a plan to clean up bush's criminal activities. The fu administration has hog-tied meaningful legislation in the immediate future for all of us. Iraq will be going on for quite sometime regardless of party. Too bad.
YYYYYYeesssssssss, mmmmmmmmm, impeachment. (smacks lips)

Well we agree to disagree - a vote in the right direction even it's not republican or democrat shows you're willingness for change. It's NOT voting for something that you don't believe in - or a party you don't believe in.
It's like saying I'm willing to take my vote somewhere else - which could mean so much more down the road.
No vote goes unheard <-- at least that's what I was raised to believe.
I say if neither party makes sense, find the one that does and vote for them - America doesn't have to be so black and white like that...know what I mean. And America isn't that black and white - some people just feel like since they have to choose between the lesser of two evils there's no point in voting...which isn't true
but the fact of the matter (Reality) is one of the two parties will win and it'll be politics as usual and nothing real major will change for the people - just a lot of finger pointing and in house drama

I think Bush proved this wrong. I seriously doubt we would be where we were if Gore had claimed his victory. Neither candidate/party is ever going to be perfect, but that shouldn't stop us from choosing the better candidate/party, whichever that may happen to be at any particular point in time.Adonis wrote: but the fact of the matter (Reality) is one of the two parties will win and it'll be politics as usual and nothing real major will change for the people - just a lot of finger pointing and in house drama
True, we definately would not be where we are now as a country - but it's hard to speculate where we'd be if Gore won <-- we just don't know
so we are where we are now and it's all about doing something about it - I say break the trend and vote for a party that really has your best interests at heart - not just the lesser of 2 evils
but I'm not a pie in the sky dreamer and realize one of the two, democrats and / or republicans will win this round - and I'm not putting my eggs in one basket with the hope whoever wins will really change things for the better...but that's just me

I agree with the need for another major party. Given the reality that it will take a while and a lot of work to get a 3rd major party, I don't want to spend my vote on that during such a critical election. To me, it's more important for Democrats to take control in this election than it is to make a reltively minor stride towards a 3- or more party system.
I felt the same in 2000, and I wish more people had as well. The vote for the Green Party in that election did nothing more than seal the Bush victory, and accomplished nothing positive for the 3rd party movement.
Thats reality to me.

It is illegal to make threats about the president. This is nothing new. It has been illegal for many, many years. It has nothing to do with Bush.
But I am surprised the ACLU hasn't jumped on this one. You have a point there. It does sound like it's right up their alley. Then again, it doesn't involve men fucking young boys... so maybe they aren't interested after all?
Frankly, I couldn't give a flying rats ass what they do to this guy. You've got to be a total fucktard to write a letter to the President saying he should die. That was pretty dumb. I have no sympathy for him. If you're going to write a letter which is critical of someone.... forgetting the President for a moment... then write something constructive. Give your ideas about how things should be done differently, if you disagree so much. Don't tell someone they should die. What good does that do? Seems like a perfectly good way to destroy an argument, even if your points are legitimate. What did this person honestly think he was going to accomplish by this? Did he think Bush was going to feel deeply hurt and compelled to commit suicide?
In fact, my guess would be this guy was intentionally trying to get in trouble. He was probably baiting for it. And I think that there is probably a little more to this case than your report suggests. I would like some more info about the case, if you have it.

Yeah, there's probably a lot more to the case then just a mean spirited letter. I wrote an email to president bush in like '03 - advising him he was stupid and I wasn't going to vote for him and I was going to make sure no one in my inner circle voted for him
I got a really nice automated response about how he can't respond to every email and thanks for contacting the white house
you should never wish death on someone, that's just asking for trouble.
The ACLU probably isn't involved because the guy on trial is incredibly stupid and the ACLU doesn't resporesent stupid people who do stupid shit -
