I know that after 10.4.8 update, CPU frequency is usually working at top speed (full throttle). However this should effect Live positively...unfortunately it's worse. I hope to see Ableton's answer or advice about 10.4.8 and this performance problem.

I had a similar problem using Live 6.0.1 with my Projectmix IO. Turns out it was issue with the firewire bus. I also had a FW800 external drive connected, so I disconnected it and voila, the problem disappeared.

I have been emailing RME, they take about 2 weeks to reply to each email.... seems their support not really that good...
Has anyone found a solution to this problem yet??
Annoyed that what is considered to be a 'high end' product is working so badly

Hi David,
Does it make a difference of the Firewire HDD is disconnected?

The problem is that all the stuff is in that hard disk, and my other hd is the same
so I'll try conect it in FW400 see if it makes a difference.

Hi David,
And with the MBP only, with no FW device attached at all? Do you have a chance to test that?
