You can belive it, I try that for a long time.

It is really hard, when you don't have the right connectiions to some special people.

i dont know how it where your at, but in miami (at my skool SAE) there is alot of record industry connections you can find, maybe a skool for sound engineering around where your at, you can ask around or work some shows at bars and lounges and build up your name.

Its very true that you need to get yourself out there producing tunes at home is not that likely to get you noticed. Most people that do well are good at self publising themselves. If you arent a dj then you need to get your tunes to people that can play them out. Send them to djs you can find on proton radio, send cds to people who you know are going to play at clubs, send cds to lots of record labels. Dont stop doing that until you get a deal. We have an expression here in the UK about flogging a dead horse, well keep doing it until you have got what you want. (No horses or animals were harmed in that statement).

After all our friend richie hawtin aka the plasikman used to throw his own parties in the US which became quite famous in their own right. And when he did the decks and effects tour he did close to 100 venues probably including some really small town ones. This guy REALLY worked hard to get where he is today.

Just had a listen to all of your tracks. The production in very crisp and clear you seem to have left alot of space in the tracks which is always important all the sounds seem to fit nicely together. Please tell me are you using some outboard here cause the mix sounds really warm?

If I had any comments from a DJ perspective which I have a great deal more experience. I go into a shop and listen to close to 100 tunes before walking away with say 25 - 30 tunes every two weeks. I listen to most of them for 1 min each and they need to grab me as soon as i put the needle down. So this means they need to grab my attention all the way through as I pick the needle up and put it back down. No body has the time to listen to the whole of a track.

So what I am saying here is that there needs to be alot more interesting sounds along the way as I skip through the track keeping my interest levels up. This is all about layering up more and more sounds not just the incidental sounds that you seem to do so well you could probably do with bringing some of them to the fore using some compression something to subtly increase the volume of a track.

Overall good effort I preffered the last two tunes personally.

I am certainly not that much of an expert at production however these comments get made about my tracks all the time and I still dont think that I have cracked it.

i thoroughly enjoyed your tracks. i strive to make minimal songs and always end up with way too many tracks, so i respect people who can keep things simple. i really like your choice of sounds too.

hope you can listen to my tracks when you have a few moments.

it's not the music I prefer, so I can only rate the production.

It sounds very clean.

In some tracks it think the Kick is too hard and needs more decay.
Okay, I'm a fan of the 808 Kick and not from 909.

The cut between some sequences are to hard (sometimes)
Try some X-fades betweenn the sequences.
Reverb or delay or something can help to get the crossing more flowed.

Just go on and make some music.

hey pannik,

thanks for taking time to listen to the tracks and give comments. i myself kind of prefer a dry production....not a big fan of long delays or reverbs, only short subtle applications to give some air and thickness. maybe because i'm a percussionist....i like short crispy sounds. but i understand your point about using those effects for smoother transitions.
