Well, if you've been following the NI forums it looks like all of them almost are close, Guitar Rig and Kontact have both had posts stating the builds are nearly done, just a bug or two left.
Thing is, they've cried wolf before... By now an "Almost there" doesn't mean jack coming from them. Making promises and then not keeping them is horrible horrible business.
yep, and it's gotten worse since all this.......

But there should be some kinda legal recourse over the current "official word" bs........oh well, certainly, at the very very very least, I have learned this time.......a sad lesson.......

Like I've said before, I would rather hear from a company a 'projected' release schedule, than 'we will release a UB, when it's ready'.
I have no idea how people come to the conclusion that software is simply a matter of X amount of time? You simply cannot say, "This product will take x amount of hours!" when talking about rewriting code etc. Though having working versions on other platforms with other frameworks helps, it doesn't guarantee anything. 'Almost there' doesn't 'promise' that it will be done tomorrow.

Once again, NI have never said, "On November 11nth Guitar rig will be released, that's a promise!" NI have never publicly promised an update, they have always had a disclaimer...... what's so difficult to understand about this?

Be pissed, but realize that if you say that NI promised anything at all at a specific time, and they are 'liars', well, in fact it's you that are spreading false accusations and rumor.

For the record, I agree that NI need to devote their time to this full swing, they need to reassure the mac audience somehow that they are devoted to the platform, but three of their plug ins are UB right now, that's better than PSP for example, who just say they are 'working on it.' :?
You guys would probably appreciate this from the NI forums though!

I hear that their web-based authorisation system is built with Flash... and that this is causing problems... is that true?
Suit #1: I mean, have you got any insight as to why a bright boy like this would jeopardize the lives of millions?
Suit #2: No, sir, he says he does this sort of thing for fun.

That's one of the issues- how the Service Center reacts if another app's holding on to an older version of Flash.

The main reason is simple server overload. It seems to me that everybody and their mother got their KC 2006 K4 update at the same time... :?

I didn't, but I don't think anybody in the states has received it yet? Hopefully the server issues will be gone by then! :P

It's useless, the ones who are willing to defend NI at whatever the cost, will keep saying the same thing.

Let's continue this discussion in march......when there are still no updates.

N.I. will learn that people are annoying when you
treat them like a number.
Businesses have a lot more to $$$ to lose than any individual.
blah... blah... blah...

have fun quoting me if you want.

see you in march.

it appears that apple are getting away with some magic.

Using Flash for something like that means a programmer somewhere should... I dunno. Find another job, I think.

Just proves that whilst NI might be able to write nice DSP algorithms, they can't write software that actually works.

Another application I own that isn't UB yet.
I read that post when it came out. I've read the stories from plenty of developers. You think I'm 'defending' NI, but it's more about being realistic, if NI are screwing up, so are Arturia, i3, PSP, etc.

I seriously don't get why it's fine if i3/DSP Quattro is more than a year out on UB as well, and his explanation of why it's been difficult seems to make sense to you, but NI are just fuckwads etc. ? Please explain. I don't get it. I don't think you're being realistic at all. :?

Just jumping in here as another former NI user (Traktor/Final Scratch 2) who will never buy anything from that company again.

The basic issue for me is honesty. They're not. And they only "communicate" when they think it's in their best interest. The "Stockholm Syndrome" users on their boards only add frustration. Never again.
