F*cking orange dot bullsh*t!
F*cking orange dot bullsh*t!
After hibernating for some time now, the f*cking orange dot has reared its stupid, ugly, retarded, useless self.
Am I imagining things, or is there a way to globally disable the most ill-conceived, ignorant, annoying, infuriating Live feature in 5.2?

Hello hambone,
In 5.2, we reverted the behaviouring causing clips not to retrigger and the song was restarted from the beginning. I quote the text of the log file here:
"Reverted the behavior of running session clips when you stop and restart the song. In 5.0.3 we changed this so that the clips are not retriggered, but keep their relative offsets, which means that often a clip will start in the middle when you start the song. It turns out that most users disliked this behavior, so we reverted this to the previous behavior, where all session clips are retriggered when the song is started. (With the added bug fix that this also works when the song is started from a position other than 1.1.1.).
There's a new Options.txt option called "-DontRetriggerSessionClips" to force the 5.0.3 behavior, for those who actually like it better. "
But one thing is, if the global quantization is set to "none", and you launch your clips anytime, the Orange Dot will appear in the clip to show that you triggered the clip on a location that was not the beginning of a bar in the song.
Hope that helps,
kind regards,
Amaury

the orange dot also appears when you modify a clips settings.
eg you have a clip play at a particular volume.
but if you want that scene to play the clip at a lower volume you modify the volume envelope.
then when teh clip plays in that scene you will see the orange dot.
pretty useful actually.

Live 6,
if you just hate the displaying of the orange dot,
try to set the color of the "orange dot" to the backgroundcolor of your live skin.
open the source graphic of the dot in photoshop and change it's color.
