I spent hours trying to configure my Behringer BCF to receive info from Live, because I knew that motorized fader feedback was possible. I tried every damn configuration and mode and setting in Live and on the BCF, and nothing worked. What was really messing with me was that sometimes, just sometimes, I'd get fader feedback, seemingly randomly. I've finally figured out that I have to power cycle the BCF, keeping it off for more than a second or two, once Live has booted up. Once I do this, the faders snap into place and all is well. If I don't wait long enough with the power off though, no go. Anyone else encounter this, or know why it may be happening? The BCF was always recognized by Live as connected, and Live responded to fader and rotary movement, but it just couldn't get feedback.
Just thought I'd share this tidbit, in the hopes of saving someone days of their life. I don't remember seeing anything previously about having to power cycle this thing...

are you trying to program your own preset including the fader position feedback? that sounds extremely difficult.

if you are using mackie mode, and are just having problems with the thing functioning correttly, then i'd suspect that you've got sketchy usb business
i used to have a lot of problems with my bcf. for me the solution was switching a usb mouse to ps/2 and tweaking some hardware settings. works pretty well now but still not quite 100%

I'm actually using the default Behringer mode- no emulation mode. I'm just programming custom presets on the BCF to correspond with things I want to control live (i.e. preset 1 is tracks 1-5 and a 'master fader' section, preset 2 is tracks 6-10 and a 'master fader' section, preset 5 is master effects parameters, preset 6 controls channel 1 FX chain parameters, etc.). Fader position feedback isn't part of the programming- only when I record (using the top master record button) are fader positions remembered and recalled when played back (if I power cycle the BCF).
I'm a keyboard player, so I don't have the option of eliminating all other USB devices (I think that's what you suggested when you explained how you switched to a ps/2 mouse). I have an Intel Mac now, with Live 6.0.1, and still have the same issues. The Behringer will operate 1 way when I first open up Live, and when I move a fader in the software, nothing happens on the BCF. When I power down for 15-20 secs or so (sometimes I have to do this more than once), and power back up, moving the fader in the software will now cause the BCF fader to move. Once that's done though, the BCF works flawlessly. Hmmm..... anyone else had this problem?

If you are using mostly mixer functions like that, I'd again recommend giving mackie emulation mode a try.
My suspicion with the problems we have is that it's really touchy on it's USB connection, so power fluctuations, etc. mess it up.. Your problem is slightly different than mine, in that mine would always start out OK but then lose connection.
