this week was interesting on so many levels. we are discovering just how similar audio editing software and video editing software truly are. this is allowing us to really start doing some cool stuff with our chosen video editor, VEGAS. hope you dig the format change...
Who Inspired you?
each week, we try to ask our artists, that sign up for one of the 5 available performance slots, a question that pertains to their art. this week we asked, "what artist or band inspired you to start writing music?" the aswers were as varied as they were interesting and it gave us some cool insight into how modern electronic musicians form their creative thoughts.
and, in a bit of haste, we decided to get a look at the new mpc 500 while browsing for studio monitors over at Guitar Center. let me know what you think. we are definitely up for doing more in store interviews and checking out products as soon as they hit the showroom floors [FYI, KRK have released a new studio monitor in the rokit series called the rp-4 which, even though i peeped it at GC, isnt even on thier website yet...]
And as always, remember that Backlit Lounge SF is san francisco's only weekly laptop electronica lounge, where artists can sign up for one of 5 45 minute performance slot by sending an email request to [email protected] after selecting one of the slots liste at www.myspace.com/backlitloungesf and simply show up and play for our increasing audience of artists...and the people who love them... and from 12-2 am we have a producers showcase where artists can bring their tracks, on CD, flash drive, etc...and have it "spun" into the mix.
