problem with recording

Post by lofi77 » Sun Nov 12, 2006 9:42 am

hi. my situation is:
making beats in doubletime resolution on my mpc (180 bpm half speed) and record each output (4) with my presonus firestation card on live 6 (synced live & the mpc).
the problem is that there is a delay from 23 ms by each loop, that means the "1" of the beat starts after 23ms.
i have changed the latency compensation settings in live and also did the tutorial, but it hasent a effect.
can anyone help?
btw: P4, 3,2GHZ, XP

You have to adjust the midi output latency in the midi/sync dialog.
But this can only work if Live is the master of this midi connection.
If you set it to -23ms in your case, live will put out the sync signal of the "1"
23ms before the internal "1". So your in time :-)

Good Luck!

thx for the answer.
my situation is that mpc is master and live is synced as slave....

I think it records with latency compensation when monitor on the channel is set to "off." Try using 1 channel to monitor only & one to record that way.

did i understand you correct? latency compensation works only when monitor setting is "off"?
