PLEASE HELP ableton lite totally screwed up my tascam us 122

Post by monush872 » Sun Nov 12, 2006 6:34 am

I'm going INSANE

my system:
intel mac 2.16 GHZ
mac os x 10.4.8
1 GB RAM

My tascam has worked perfectly with garageband, logic, and the ableton live 6 demo.
today I installed the live 5.2 lite that came with the AXIOIM keyboard I bought... after installing liive 5.2 I noticed terrible latency.. I figured it was just live... but I open arage band and... guess.. I open logic.. same problem..

not only is there latency but everything sounds about 2 semitones lower than what I actually play on my guitar or with my voice.

when I set up my tascam as my output from my system preferences, the audio clicks in and out. on off on off, with a horrible clicking sound (this time, at about 2 semitones higher.. ????)

I have already
uninstalled live and all its prefferences
uninstalled the tascam driver and re intalled it
rebooted

It's not the tascam, I just plugged it into my old e-mac and it works just fine.
this all started when I intstalled live 5.2 lite.. it totally screwed up everything that has to do with the tascam us 122 (and god knows what else)

any suggestions? I just spent a whole lot of money I've been saving for years building my home studio. I was just about to purchase live 6 next week, and this happpens. I'd hatre to have to spend an extra 300$ on another driver (that is, if that one works at all)

thanks

It seems like the sample rate has changed somewhere.
