i saw them last june, and they weren't.
logic if i remember correctly.
so how exactly does logic work in a live setting???

nevr seen it b4(used in a live setting)
I saw a danish band, Filur, use 8 stems of audio for a danish award show a few years ago. That's the first time I've ever yelled at a television, I think.

Logic actually has some of the same functionality of an Rm1x, but more often people just hit play...

I saw Tipper play out with Logic oncec. All he was doing was playing some tweeked stuff he had only on his computer, an he twiddled a few knobs with hthe track pad in real time.

Music was good, he ran it through the Fuel Cars, and no one cared that he was basically hitting PLAY.
15" PB 2.5 Ghz, 4 Gig RAM, 750 GB HD, Live 9 still no cue points or program change messages?!?. Doesn't do shit.

I saw them 2 years ago during sonar and they were dj'ing with traktor.
I saw them last year and they were dj'ing with live. They were pretty rubbish to be honest. I Reckon their live set would be better.

I think diplo is an inspired choice. his beat are class. that piracy funds terrorism mix was spot on..

Deadbeat
Daedelus (I think he uses live)
John Tejada
Jan Jelinek
Pole (again, I think he uses live)
Definitely Deadbeat. I'd go for all these, really. Deadbeat's records really speak to me, and his live performances are great.

Another vote for the Optimo guys as well. I saw them using Ableton last year, and immediately I knew it was the software I was going to use.

didnt deadbeat use to be featured in the old ableton users profiles a few years ago? wouldnt mind seeing more interviews with electronic musicians who are a tad more abstract/experimental and using live.

definately definately get optimo for this! they've been pioneers with ableton for a long time, and twitch has released 2 albums of re-edits of classic records (under the betty botox name) that im sure he used ableton for.

ive also seen switch using ableton as well, and up & comers like surkin and duke dumont are fantastic using live

Always thought Amon Tobin could be an instant Live fan and user but apparently not, as read in a recent FM interview about his upcoming album. He seems pretty adamant about sticking to what works for him. Vinyl, Mutator, Cubase, etc. That said, his next disc will be made of field recording entirely (insects, factory and random noises, etc...), no vinyl bits on it all. Cool, I love his work.
