Saffire Crashing in Live with PadKontrol

I just purchased a padKontrol for use with Live 6. I have a Focusrite Saffire sound card which all of a sudden is crashing frequently when I use the padKontrol. Btw i am using this on a PowerMac Dual 2GHZ G5. Does anyone have a similar setup? Has anyone experienced such crashes with the Saffire?

yes! Glad I'm not on my own...
Started a thread very recently titled 'whoa! does anyone experience crashing using live 6?'
yeah, I', using a powermac G5 too, and a saffire LE. could be coincidence, but maybe there's issues with using both?!?
exactly what happens in terms of crashing? are you getting live 'unexpectadly quitting' or kernal panics (freeze and requestion you restart from the hardware)???
try using just the saffire and just the padkontrol... it could be one or the other.

For me it is the Saffire which is crashing. It is hard to tell when it will crash, but i can reproduce it just by creating a new scene and using a single track with impulse and triggering samples from the padKontrol. The only other time I had problems with the Saffire crashing was when I was running Reason in rewire mode into Live and it would crash only when I was autoloading presets fast. I was willing to live with that, but this is unbearable. I don't know if it's the Saffire or PadKontrol. Very frustrating. Have you or anyone else had their Saffire crash? Or did yours just crash Live?

Weird- I've got almost exactly the same setup as you (think I have a Dual 1.8 G5 instead of 2gHz)- Saffire, PadKontrol, Remote 25SL amongst others- never had a crash that I can think of. Is the problem easily repeatable, ie If you unplug the Saffire, run Live, create a Track etc, does the comp still crash? If not, does it crash when you plug the Saffire back in without the Pad Kontrol connected?
