but then someone on that blog mentioned the Sony Ericsson flip-over keyboard for S/E that phone-slash-pda, and that got me thinking: Didn't Apple also file a patent application for a multi-touch screen? If that is the case, wouldn't it be a likely scenario to see an Apple laptop with a multi-touch interface, where you can add tactile input surfaces, like a keyboard, on top?

It's just one of many patents that all point to a multitouch device of some sorts.

A previous patent was virtually the same, instead it showed the mechanical overlays as software.
