TC Electronics Konnekt 24D Firewire Interface and Ableton 6

Post by barr » Mon Nov 20, 2006 5:56 pm

Hello everyone,
Does anybody know why Ableton 6 does not work with the internal effects of the Konnekt 24D? the Konnekt 24D comes with internal effects and they all work with Cubase, Sonar etc but not with Ableton 6? is there a reason?
Thanks [/code]

I know I had trouble with my Konnekt 8 until I updated drivers from the TC Electronics site. Make sure you have the most recent drivers.

Konnect 24D

I have a Konnect24D that I use with a Macbook Pro buspowered. I have not tested it too hard but it seems to perform very well. The micpreamps sound really nice better than the Rme fireface 800 that I also use. The plugins work with Live although not as Audiounits inside Live rather on the inputs or the outputs on the 24D. The assimilator plugin is a normal audiounit plugin.

peace

Konnekt 8: I only have a 4 pin FW on the notebook, so I use the external power supply. When I first set it up, the first day it sounded great, really good, and I messed around for hours straight. (got it about 1 week ago, was using the midi in, have not yet tried the analog ins).

The next day, started things up again, deadly dropout depression... could not get it to sound clean. Emailed their support, they said 'download the newest drivers'-- a downside is that it was not easy to find these on their site un-aided-- but if you are using it while connected to the internets, there is a 'check for updates' button.

So, got the new drivers, and it's been working great since. If you buy one, check for updates as soon as you get it installed, and before you try using it. Did my first silly youtube video with it, but the sound on that doesn't do it justice. I will try to upload some just plain audio when I get a chance.

(if you want the link to the video, just search for 'utenzil' on youtube or click here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q745GVuE9Rs )

I use a windows computer with an amd chipset and had major problems with the 24D. It went back to the store. I picked up a motu traevler to replace it.

When working with quicktimes in live it would give me a BSOD every few min!

Not cool. Oh and I did update the drivers and the firmware. It sounded fantastic though. Kinda sad. I could see myself buying a connect 8 down the road to connect just to use for recording down the road.

Engelen,
Are you saying that we can record the Konnekt 24D internal effects into live but we would need to control it from the interface rather than live?

I get what he's saying: they are operable from within Live via vsts, but do not affect signal in the paths within Live, but on ins and outs of the24D.
