Hi guys,
Usually when I make up my productions I try to use my own drum patterns and loops that I made myself. But I was at guitar center today and noticed a whole section full of DVDs with loops and drum patterns.
now my question is this. I think i may want to try a few out but just how popular are drum loop dvds. Are alot of top electronic producers using these do you think? The reason I try to stay or was trying to stay away rather was because I thought it would be more orginal work if I was to use my own creations. Would love some insight on this.
Thanks,
SW
To use loops or Not to loop? That is the question

While there are a couple good sample cd's / dvd's out there I suggest jacking beats from Vinyl or CD and build your loop / beat collection from scratch (as you're already doing)
if you do get a sample disc consider one with rex files - that way you can import the rex into your favorite sampler like Kontakt or Battery and do something new and cool with the loop
check out http://bestservice.de for even more sample / loop / beat cd's and dvd's
