BITSTREAM 3X = best controller?

p4p, is this the most control available out there ATM (besides going custom)? 4 send/fx knobs per channel, dont think ive seen more on a console like this?
yes or no answer, and if no, post the model you think trumps it. or perhaps console combination?
ive been using the O-8 and uc-33 in tendem for years, ready to upgrade...

of course we'd *all* love a lemur, but already sold both my kidneys a while back for a wild night out on the town in bombay!
for the price now im thinking about replacing the O-8 with the novation remote 25. slight advancement, but more like lateral movement from the existing setup described.
thanx for the feedback peoples.

i just bought a bitstream. I am new to ableton, but not to midi controllers and this is pretty cool. I use a bcr to control lights, and they are very different. The bitstream is built like a tank. A friend has been using one of hte older units with the motion sensor with no problems. The bcr feels rightly cheaper in comparison. I work with plenty of artists that use it live, but wasnt right for me. The bitstream has an upgradeable OS and the developers are interested in how they can improve hte product for their users.

a few thoughts about Lemur:
Lemur is cool and all - space age stuff... but kinda too star trek geeky for my blood...
I want to feel like I'm making music....fiddle with knobs and sliders you know???
I would get it only to launch clips from the session view....that would be swell
I guess I'll just pick one up on the way from work tomorrow.... U know what I think I'd rather get a Neumann u87...or fully loaded Uad card instead and stick to the ol' BCR+axiom rig.shhh...lemur....get that thing outta my face pshhh....
I remember those touchscreens from the 80's man - Unreliable.... I'm not convinced. I'm sure it can give you cancer in some way too... Didn't your mom ever tell you not to sit too close to the screen?

the artist formerly known as 3dot...
seeing the two midi outs makes me wonder:
would it be possible to customize it in terms of which components were sending over each midi out,
so that the thing would appear as two devices (like it does in their reason remote pic),
and you could use certain parts as mackie emulation (faders, etc.)
but have other parts available to use for automapping???

I definetly love my Bitstream 3X !
So yes I think this is currently the best trade off between quality, number of controls, functions (automations) and price.
I had a remote zero sl that I sold to order a bitstream 3x, the remote zero is really cheap compared to the Bitstream, this is my point of view, objective !
And thomann has now the Bitstream is stock !
