VST bug?
VST bug?
Dear all,
I bought Ableton 6.0.1, also with some VST's, (such as GuitarRig, Minimoog, Albino).
When i try to add one of these VST's to a MIDI sequence, i -as normally- open up (for example) the minimoog, choose a sound, and it sounds alright, just like how i want it.. But then, when i close the VST, but keeping it active in a channel, and i play the loop, there is a very strange...delay, sort of. Even if i turn delay off in the VST itself.I tried it with several VST's, but all turn out to have the same problem...anyone know how to fix this issue?
Regards,
Arpegius

Do you have some I/O loop where another channel is feeding you back your midi?
Have you checked the send/return setup?

i have a very similar problem. Turn delay compensation on, use abletons plugs , no problem. Use waves plugs and some of my tracks are delayed. You can really hear it when your sequencing rithm.

Sounds like you might need to enable "plugin delay compensation" in the preferences.

Sorry haven't looked at it in a long time. It's "Delay Compensation" actually right on the Options menu not in the preferences.

I already checked the delay compenstation, its checked. Its like live doesnt recognize how to compute the delay for certain 3rd party plugs i.e. waves. The wierd thing is, I have to retest this tho, it seems it doesnt delay only the track its on, it seems to be affecting other tracks as well...But its hard to say whick ones. All of the sudden my rithm goes from being tight to sloppy sounding. Putting the plugin on the master bus doesnt seem to matter...Makes sense, every thing is now probably delayed a bit. Wonder if its calculating that properly, might explaine why some recordings I make always need shifting. Now Im seriously getting paraniod.
