Unless you need the extra inputs, don't waste your money on the echo audiofire. It will NOT sound significantly better then the mbox with the summit audio 2ba.

How about the rme ADI 2 with the summit preamp?
The lunatec v3 would be good, but its too expensive.
The other alternative is the apogee mini me.
Which would you go for?

Do you need a dual channel preamp or can you live with a single?

I couldnt really live with a single channel, i like to record guitars with 2 different mics so i can pick which one sounds best, or maybe use both.
