Nathan Fake style feedback?

Post by helicon » Mon Nov 27, 2006 9:28 pm

Hello everyone, tis my first post on this board after trolling for ages i thought i might as well join in as there seems to be alot of like minded stuff going on.
Ive recently been trying to achieve a simalar feedback style effect that Nathan Fake uses on "drowning in a sea of love". I am at a complete loss to how this is achieved. I have recorded guitar feedback before, sort of "My Bloody Valentine style" but this seems alot different like a synth is being distorted and fedback?. Hope someone can shed some light on this.

use your favorite distortion pedal/plug-in, whatever

add to it some nice feedback delay...try ohm force's "ohm boyz"

and viola... nice drippy wet goodness.

For distorted delay lines Audio Damage Ronin all the way.

Or, on a send in Live: a boosted Saturator->Eq with a peak in the midrange and rolled off on the highs and lows->Simple delay, set to 0% feedback, and then feed it back in using the sends on the return bus, for cool distorted delays.
