four dubby, jazzy, low-tempo things from angstrom
four dubby, jazzy, low-tempo things from angstrom
I must be going insane, I set up a myspace.
I think I am officially the last person on earth to do it.
http://www.myspace.com/angstromnoises
four random tracks I uploaded to try out their hillariously badly coded system, I guess that's new to no one.
Of the tracks -
the first one is, er, jazzy breaks ? not sure, it changes about a bit, so it's breakbeaty in places and weird in others.
the second is sort of vaguely dub influenced, in an on-U sound / adrian sherwood sort of fashion.
the third one, I have posted here before I think, but it was handy for an upload.
the fourth is sort of ambient, it is basically one of the umpteen things I do with my loopers. It may not be the best of them, but I have a terrible filing system.

I thought I'd check out the music behind the "Angstrom" name. I really like what you're writing. Experimental, but accesible. Keep up the great work. I tried to request you as a "friend", but that feature was temporarily disabled, surprise. Maybe i'll remembe to do it later. I don't visit myspace that often. Again, keep the great tracks coming!

thanks,
yes, I do actually write music as well as coming on here
I am glad it seems 'experimental' to some degree, it's hard to tell where I am at musically but it's important to me to be on that boundary between 'new' and 'listenable' it's a difficult balancing act and too easy to fall into either 'unlistenable weirndess' or 'predictable'.
I'm going to put another one up later today to replace the fourth (ambient) one.
It's one terrible system they have there, really unstable!
but I thought I needed to put some music up somewhere, as I will be going away for a few months and I'm not sure if I'll be able to get my site up and running before then.
thanks for checking it out.

Couldn't agree more. I once tried writing a "pop" piece using a tone row. Uhhh, yeah. That fell into the unlistenable catagory.Angstrom wrote:thanks,

Nice - well produced and well balanced. Like Expectation Gap the most, and its artwork too. Interesting stuff and quite atmospheric. Actually the last one, Tuolmo, which I'm listening to as I type this reminds me of Tangerine Dream's Stratosfear in a way (which is meant to be a compliment).
Looking forward to the next tracks!

wow, Tuolmo reminds you of Stratosfear , I find that amazing!
I'm not offended in any way - as Tangerine Dream were one of my first big influences, I can't see it myself .. but there you go .. it must be in there somewhere!
I have lots of TD-a-like material which is hidden under my 'virtual' bed, never to come out.
