in order of getting

circa 1983
Image
sounds like crap, I painted it with gold hammerite.

also circa 1983
Image
very funny syntom type drum synth.

effects were all handled by this beast
Image
which sounded as shit as a 'reveb' can possibly sound.

I got a four track about a year later and then started getting more equipment that didnt make me wince.

Mickey mouse guitar - age four. About a foot long and had four plastic strings. It was a christmas present. I remember opening it thinking it was the best thing in the world, and going straight to my room to play by myself, forgetting about my other presents. Nothing much has changed since.

1st real guitar - marlin electric, age 12

1st venture into electronica - Korg electribe ES-1 sampler groovebox.....

thus began the slippery slope to nerdom.....

7th grade, Apple 2C, found the "sound <frequency>, <duration>" command, made a program in class at school, mapped keys to random frequencies. I still remember the teacher staring me down saying "if you play that thing one more time I'm throwing you out of class" - I fucking loved it. HOOKED!!!

Acid, hammerhead then
