Actually I use v. 1.6.2 too. Don't have time to play with beta this time...
Beta 1.6.3 adresses some bugs and issues, plus it has the new "Tap Tempo" feature.

Btw, Version 1.7 (in the beginning of next year) will have Pitch Lock function (like Pioneer CDJ-s master tempo), but I guess of better quality by the reputation of Serato Pitch n Time plugin!

Looking forward to...

My setup specs are in my signature. Just add Serato Scratch Live v. 1.6.2 and a turntable. That's what I have at home at the moment.

Sorry, marqs - missed that! So do you just have the output of the Serato Hardware (after routing it through your DJ mixer) connected to the single input of the EMU 0404 USB Audio interface? (For recording in Live).

I don't have a mixer at home at the moment, so the output of Serato is connected straight to the EMU 0404 USB soundcard (Line In).

For all those that have been following this thread - I've bought mixvibes DVS package and a U46DJ soundcard. I'll report on their use alongside Live as soon as I have it set up.
Wish me luck!!!

i've found this thread pretty intriguing - can't say i understood what was going on a whole lot of the time (!), but i'm also looking to invest in similar technology.
Patch - i'd love to hear the kind of stuff you're looking to do with the two bits alongside each other. i've got the same predicament of loving ableton but not wanting to give up scratching etc.

I use a combination of Midi controllers and DJ mixers. For Live - I use a UC-33e and a DM2. I use them for controlling effects parameters mostly, then route the outs of Live into the DJM600 for controlling the actual audio output of live. I find the faders and knobs on midi controllers are not accurate enough for DJ'ing with.
Buy yourself a DM2. Then get Pdooms DM2midi software (It's free).
I also use a Vestax 07ProD for scratching.

It's not arrived yet - it's due for delivery on Wednesday next week. Ended up paying £399 (incl. delivery) from Turnkey. They pricematched Thomann. I'm gonna be buying more gear from Thomann - their prices are RUDE!

I sold Final S%@#!* ages ago because it was shit.
I bough Serato and I love it. Solid Solid Solid.
Now I see this.
As announced, the cooperation with Stanton Magnetics will not be continued beyond December 31st. For legal reasons the TRAKTOR 3 version available from January 1st, 2007, will no longer be compatible with FinalScratch 2.
Not sure whats going on but it looks like
Native Instruments are ditching FS too...

This is some good reading, thanks for all the thoughts... I want to get something rock solid that will work with ableton as well. I have been getting away with using the 1/8" sound card on my laptop and it has worked great live (as long as I have a ground lift). For me the less stuff I have to hookup is better... Im going to read throught this again later. So have we concluded that running serato and ableton together works well? I have to read over again but are you able to route serato into ableton without an external soundcard i/e internal routing? That would kick ass.... In fact I dont think I would be wanting to sample myself on the decks into Ableton... But it would be cool to do a Live Pa and then go straight into playing rock mashups without having to stop the mix and without having to bring a seperate bag of records.... What do ya think? The only thing that makes me consider final scratch is the MIDI port...I have a XONE 92? Any thoughts?
