The market isn't very big for companies like RME to invest resources when they do fine with cross-platform Firewire interfaces such as the Fireface 400 (which work great on both the Mac and PC)...DJ VAKIS wrote:Do you guys think we will see any audio express cards soon?
One suggestion, use the Express Card slot for external storage (SATA is REALLY high-speed, at least twice as fast as Firewire 800 with SATA II drives) and keep your Firewire port for the audio interface. This is what I did and it works pretty well!!
Firmtek makes a good Express Card 3/4 to SATA, as well as Sonnet and a couple of other people.

stay groovy!

this has been mentioned in other threads -
but
Duel Systems are currently testing and releasing soon a PCMCIA to EXPRESS/34 adaptor.

as i am jumping onto the MBP train now that the core 2 duo is out, and i was going to sell my emu1616m, but now im going to see how much this adaptor is.
I do quite like the idea of having a motu traveller added to my rack though.

Echo have no plans for an express card version of the indigo - besides they have just released a better solution with the audiofire 2 / 4tokyojoe69 wrote:I'm eager to see if echo comes up with anything. I love my indigo, but sooner or later I'm gonna drop some cash on a new lappie, and still want the hassle- (cable)free portability.
AUdioFire 2 can be found at my store for £164.99 btw
