Zoom to Loop key command

Post by Tarekith » Mon Dec 04, 2006 10:17 pm

Be nice to have a fast way to quickly zoom the arrange page to show only the loop brace. Ditto on a quick way to zoom all the way out. Too much mousing now, and the + and - keys are so slow....

In the SESSION view it would be great to make ZOOM a midi feature so you could assign ZOOM to a knob and use the knob to zoom in and out.

ALSO, on the subject of LOOPS it would be great to be able to select the LOOP BRACE with a key command or midi controller.

I am aware of the midi learn options for start, end, position, length but because midi only has 128 positions they dont move evenly with bars, they move according to divisions of 128. For performance use I expect there would be loads of uses for controlling loops via midi in even sizes from 16th's through to 64bars and more.

rishi you can already zoom remotely in session view.....i explained to you how you can do it over on aldj where my moniker is zeropoint. can you still not get it to work? cuz it works fine here. first select the track with the clip you want to zoom in/out on. now map alt-down to a button on your controller via bomes or midistroke. the actual keystroke for putting focus on the clip view is alt-down-down but for some reason midistroke crashes when i map it this way. however if you press that mapped button twice it will take you into the clip view where you can now zoom with a controller mapped to the + and - keys

zoom in sonic foundry's sound forge (now owned by sony) has the feature to zoom in by the mouse wheel. that would be nice. quick and effective.

This would also be a great improvement when working with clips in session view.
