Graphics tablet support

Post by globalgoon » Fri Dec 08, 2006 12:47 pm

Hi!

Please can we have support for graphics tablet. My knobs go crazy when I use my pen!

A forum member posted a solution, which is good, but it involves using the button on the pen when using sliders/knobs etc. While being a good solution, I'd rather be able to use it without.

Have plugged my mouse back in temporarily, but after using a pen, the mouse feels really inaccurate and clunky!!

Reason works exactly the same with mouse or pen :(

BTW I recommend graphics tablet to anyone, I can zip around the screen clicking on buttons and stuff really zippily.

While submitting a bug for the new beta, I also reminded them of this problem.

We'll see how they handle it, hopefully they change some stuff regarding this topic on the next beta.

How does what work? A graphics tablet? The slogan on my intuos box says "efficiency can be breathtaking", and each time I see that box I just have to smile. I hate it when I have to use the mouse on the other machine, because using a tablet works absolutely great.

I think its RFID technology behind it, it can measure the position of the pen through a electromagnetic field up to about 2-3 cm above the tablets surface. When the pen tip is touching the surface, then you have a mouse down event, like when you're dragging the mouse with your left mouse button clicked.

It is very precise and pressure sensitive. It's almost the perfect input device. Plus you don't get to hear the clicks of a mouse button (which can become very annoying if you work late at night).
