Problem with Project vs. Library storage of audio recordings

Post by Derekd » Sat Dec 09, 2006 11:35 pm

Running Live 6.0.1 on Windows XP. Having problem with Project versus Library storage of audio recordings. Here are two examples of the difficulties I am experiencing:

1. When I go to Collect and Save all of the audio clips of a song, the clips are not moved from the Library to my song/Project folder.
2. When I create a new Live set, Live is not creating a new Project folder as the manual states that it should. Audio recordings are stored in the library automatically.

Anyone know how to resolve this?

Hello,

There are two things to consider here:

-The Library itself is a big project, and you can't save a project inside a project, only sets. So, you've got to have a separate foder to save your own projects.

-When you collect and save, you've got the choice to include or not include material that resides in the Library. That leaves you the choice not to re-copy that material in each of your projects folders, if you don't need to share them with other users.

Hope that's clear enough, tell me otherwise.
