why wont my audio effects folders work?

I loaded Abelton 5.0 onto my laptop (a MacBook Pro ... the new kind) ... and none of the drop-down folders in my Audio Effects work. The effects themselves work, but the usual choices within each effect don't show up.

Any idea why?

Do I have to reload the program?

My guess is that you have not installed any Live Packs. These are how the content, like presets, are delivered. Check the Ableton download area for live 5.
