Sound hiccuping / stuttering in Live 6?

Post by ek » Tue Dec 12, 2006 5:52 am

Im getting ready to perform a set of mine live soon, and I wanted to play out my compositions in arragement view so I can screw with them improv style.

The problem Im having is that during certain parts (usually when new tracks come into the song) there will be a half-second stutter/glitch with no audio, then right back to normal, no problem. I used the search function and unfortunatley this seems like a somewhat common issue, does this mean I should head back to live Live 5?

Specs:
HP Pavilion DV9000
2.0GHZ Intel Dual Core
2 Gigs of RAM
7200RPM HD
M-Audio Firewire Solo

Thanks!

adjust your buffer

whats your cpu hitting on average?

try loading some audio into ram being that you have a ton of it
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

I agree with the above post, it is almost certainly the buffer size, for play back I sometimes use 1024 if there is a lot of processing.
Presumably you know the practice of low buffer sizes for recording, high buffer sizes for play back?
