I second this notion... parallels actually works surprisingly well, and audio latency is suprisingly good.

BUT, I should point out that this is not an ideal working condition for everybody. Some hardware (namely some USB devices) cause a whole bunch of problems running under emulation. The Virus TI is the first example that I can think of which works like this, but I'm sure there are other devices as well.

Just to clarify something for non-Macbook me, if you had an external soundcard and wanted to use it with xp on a macbook/bootcamp you'd just install the regular pc drivers and be golden, right?

Not necessarily. The Macbook pro drivers aren't completely working yet. I bought a saffire when I got my Macbook pro, and it was definitely a bitch getting it to work properly. I doubt, if I wasn't a technical person, that wouldn've been able to get it working, because even saffire's support didn't know how get it working properly on a Macbook pro running Windows XP Sp2. It has to do mainly with the way the firewire drivers on SP2 differ from SP1, and is documented on RME's site. Also, my wireless driver doesn't work right when it tries to connect to some secure wireless access points. Additionally, not all the drivers were found in Device Manager. Cheers.

Yo. Just in case anyone else has this problem - I managed to fix it. You've to disable wireless & bluetooth in xp then the audio runs smoothly.

Thanks for all the advice
