bass port on monitors
bass port on monitors
has anybody heard of blocking the bass port on a set of monitors to reduce the bass/
im wanting to do this but am unsure of what to use
any asvice would be great

Yes, when i play late at night I do this. I have left over pieces of auralex foam here, but anything will work. Use a sock.

wouldn't it just be easier to put an EQ on the master and roll a little bass off?
if you block the holes you change the way the cabinet works - it will then be 'infinite baffle' or something, and the whole physics of the thing is changed.

What you should do...... Is buy the most expensive set of powered
monitors u can, with the most balanced frequency response....
Then u can plug em up and tape shit to em so as to ruin the sound.
Save the money and buy cheap unpowered monitors.
Aaron speakers kick most powered monitors asses and cost about $500
less...... Then when you ruin their sound you wont be wasting so much
money.

i have moved them away from the wall a put socks in the port hole. This seems to have dampend the bass so i will leave them for the time being
