guess you are in the wrong thread. we are talking about differences in sound between live live and rendered live. but thanks for this great tip on using mastering plugins. but why using them in wavelab? is it not possible to use them directly in live???leedsquietman wrote:Get some good mastering plug-ins....
My rendered songs sound pretty crappy.
assuming its well-mixed in the first place, euphonic full sound and no digital clipping...
could it be related to the soundcard driver?
can u render using another soundcard then do an A/B listening test...
never had an issue with render removing some bass freq or altering the sound like a combo of eq and distortion. i have had strange spikes in gain right at the beginning of the audio file, but i can get round that by having a bit of lead in silence on my audio clips (altho i wouldnt mind an explanation from the abes on this one?).
surely rendering should only render what is in the trax? not some interpretation...

Maybe just a psychological effect: Live is not blinking at you anymore and you're just listening to the wave file and all of a sudden you start listening instead of tweaking and whamo! You actually hear it. Ugh. Try again.
I'll bet money if you did a blind A/B comparison...

I want a lot to see an Abletons' opinion about that.
I love Live (Live is a bit my life!), but I also can hear quite well and I see that Lives' audio engine can be improved a lot.
If you compare the sound with D.P. Logic or Samplitude you hear the difference...
Also if you compare the prices you will also see some difference but thats from another chapter
