Do you think, perhaps one day in the future LIVES tempo could be controlled similar to the way Serato or Torq works
that would be coo' don't you think (if you even had turntables)
So LIVE's tempo and who knows what else could be controlled via timecode
I think that'd be a great idea
perhaps
but think about it - Live as the ultimate track and easily mixable as if you were mixing records - some people like pitch controls in their lives (like me)
Curious - control LIVE via Turntables?????
It would be really cool but I think it would be hard to make intuitive -- you'd probably want a way to group a bunch of clips/tracks together to be controlled by the same turntable (kind of like crossfader assignment.) How would they map the turntable's output (which is more like timecode than anything else -- it controls both speed *and* position in a song, usually) to clip position?
(One cool side-effect of this would be that Ableton would have to be able to play backwards, and at much lower tempos than 20bpm too. The reverse-button-junkies would be all over that, I bet...)
