Post by formdiplo » Fri Dec 15, 2006 10:48 pm

what it does exactly.. and how to simulate it on Ableton?
i know there is one in the new compressor.. but its doesnt give a way to compress it with a specific channel....
or do i not know how to use it right?

there's an example in the tips and tricks sticky. Live does not come with any plug ins that do sidechain compression, but you can use sidechain compression in Live, such as Creamware's Vanilla compressor.

basically you use one signal to gate another, such as a kick gating a bassline so they don't step on each other but they work together tighter.
