Post your music as a project?

Post by joshier » Fri Dec 15, 2006 11:37 pm

Hello

I'm all for listening to music, but as an artist, I like the idea of sharing production techniques.

A lot of the time we get users saying 'Wow, how do you create beats like that!?' and a lot of the time they have to learn the hard way by practising..

I think that's all good and well, and I endorse practising, but I think it would be really special if we could have a sub-section on the forum where people who post thier music (or err, production technique-only tracks which other users are able to load up and see the inner workings of how it is produced)

Personally, I would gain a lot by looking how a lot of IDM/glitch/break music is made... the drum programming which can often seem far too complex to even learn when playing the beat back over and over... This type of music is very fast of course and that's why I am specifically targeting it as a valuable resource if we could have a section for just this..

Anyway, let me know what you all think of this..

Cheers!

i think that is a good idea. what some people can do with ableton is mind boggling to me and i'd love to get a bit of an insight into how they build tunes up

I think that's a fabulous idea as well, but I'm also coming from the end of users who has yet to figure it out, which may skew my judgment a bit.

Funny. My newest tune is a really glitchy cut up breaks tune, and I was planning on posting the Live file for just the reasons you guys cite :) It's not done yet though, so hold on.

Please post Live 5 versions if possible.
(Or has everyone migrated to Live6 already?)
