More problems with XP...

Aside from the poor performance, I frequently get the blue screen of death talking about 'beginning physical memory dump' or something, what's all this about?

You must have serious hardware problems somewhere,

I have never ever blue screened any of my machines in XP

Replace your RAM

Hi M&H

Go to 'start' then 'my computer' and right clickon it , select 'manage' and go to 'performance logs and alerts' and click on 'alerts'.

are there any alerts in there? If so, click on the most recent ones and note down the error. Post it in a reply here or google it.

I used to get a lot of the blues screens of death when I ran XP natively on a Dell Inspiron, I guess I'm just unlucky.

The only time I get a BSOD is when I stupidly mess up something with my audio card...like the other night I turned it off not realizing I still had an app open (either Live or Sonar). Tried to close the app, things got flakey and then wham - the big blue.

Oh right you're using it in Bootcamp. Sorry, I thought you were a PC user. The alerts might be displayed the same but I don't know, never used bootcamp

Hi, I resolved the issue by increasing the latency on my Audiophile USB and increasing the buffer size for the plugins. Runs smooth now, very pleased with it's performance (live 6 screams!)

It seems so, I'm not sure but it hasn't happened since. It's difficult to say really, those type of shutdowns seem to occur randomly with Windows. I think it might be something to do with my sound card. No idea really what causes those type of errors really lol.
