Session Clip Envelope Display Stays Visible (Bug 6.01?)

Post by kineticUk » Sun Oct 15, 2006 8:49 pm

I edited an envelope of an operator clip which I am using inside session view.
After the editing was done, I selected another clip (Clicked on it inside another track). As I did not need to see the envelopes for this clip, I unchecked the envelope button so that it was no longer displayed.
When I returned to the clip which had the edited envelope (By clicking on it), the envelope view was open, even though the envelope view was not selected(Highlighted).
I remember this happening in Live 5 and I think this is a bug.
To reproduce read the above. Hope it gets fixed anyway.
Thanks

I noticed the following:

These little buttons at the bottom of notes- and envelope-tabs (note-symbol and E) aren't actually the ones that toggle note or envelope editing on and off. They just hide it or show it. The actual buttons that select which one is being edited are the arrows at the top of the tabs. Next to the texts saying "Notes" and "Envelopes".

It makes much more sense now, since even if the envelope tab can get hidden while the envelope editing mode is still on, you can see, that the notes-arrow isn't higlighted while envelope editing mode is on. This means the envelope arrow is highlighted but it's just hidden. You can show it again with by pressing the E-button at the bottom.

So there's no actual bug there, but the problem is that Live remembers which editing mode was on in the midi clip, but the tab visibility settings are global.

So my suggestion is, that since the editing mode is being remembered, why can't the tab visibility settings be remembered for each clip too?
