Is it possible to use a clip to arm or disarm a track?
I'm trying to use ableton for playing keyboard live. I have 2 controllers and i'm trying to control 8 tracks armed with 8 VSTs. I want scene sets to correspond to songs. But since I only have 2 controllers, I need to disarm 6 tracks and I want a shortcut to do it. ANy help is appreciated, thanks.

in Live 6 you can assign one key to multiple destinations.
the method you described in your post is still feasible, you need MIDI Yoke if you're on PC and soundflower if you are on mac to create a virtual midi port which you can use to route CC info from a clip in Live to control the Live interface.
search for hoffman2k's dummy clips info.

You can use a clip, but you'll need a midi loopback installed on your computer. If on PC, you can use MidiYoke or equivalent, and then you'll put in in midi notes in your clip, assign those notes to the track arm/disarm toggle, and then send that clip into your loopback port, which then send the midi back into Live and does what you ask it to do.
Since I don't do this very much, I'll leave it at that and let other more experienced folks on this topic respond.
I wonder if there's a way to use Racks to do massive disarms.
